When the most memorable thing about a big-budget movie is the quality of its tweed, then you might rightly assume there are problems. Snowy in particular has his fabric so well rendered that he looks like a stuffed toy.
Funniest moment is when the initial credits list the cast: including Simon Pegg and the ubiquitously siamesed Nick Frost. Imagine those two both appearing in the same film. Maybe you can guess who they play? I couldn't.
Andy Serkis plays Simon Pegg, playing Scotty from Star Trek, playing Captain Haddock. At the end credits, I wasn't the only one in the cinema who'd thought this really was Pegg.
The crane fight was quite good. Otherwise, deeply so-so.
