Bristol LRP Kit Fair

Well that was a busy weekend! A last minute opportunity to appear at the Foreign Fields LRP Kit Fair down in Temple Meads station. Rachel and I were promoting Waltz on the Wye, and steampunk in general.

A seven o'clock start to setup on Saturday (as if!) was unpleasantly cold, even indoors, although Brunel's hammerbeam roof is still lovely to look at. Lots of visitors during the day, a few of whom were steampunks, many more were interested in becoming one.

Some other interesting chats too - people interested in masonic light bulbs, motion-following eyeballs, laser-cutting and building stargates.

Sunday brought fewer general vistors, but a little group of Bristol's steampunks, including Heike with cake! Also Kolonel Mustard and his enormous heffalump pistol.

Then if that wasn't enough, a trip to Easton to visit a few people (and cats) who it has been far too long since we've seen them. Happy Birthday Maria!

Other friends had a stall there too.

Too bad none of you mentioned this in advance or we could have stopped by.
(if it was mentioned on Farcebook, it's not a surprise I missed it).

What were you selling?

It was a last-minute opportunity. I didn't even know that I was going until the night before.

We weren't selling anything - just promoting steampunk events in general, and Waltz in particular.

Attempting to lure tired Larpers over to the steamside with the promise of tea and crumpets eh?

I've dropped Rachel a line about a steampunk thing up here in Leics, if you're not able to come would you like to send me some flyers and I'll pimp your fest.
